About Us

Our Mission Statement

1NB Bank was  founded in 1878 by the Schlafly Bros. as The First National Bank in Carlyle.  The Schlafly brothers built the bank building located at 891 Fairfax, Carlyle and this location still serves as the Bank’s main headquarters today.

As the bank and its employees grew, a drive-up branch was built in 1969 at 12th and Jefferson Street, Carlyle. In July 1997, this facility was vacated and the new Carlyle Branch opened at 1350 Twelfth Street, Carlyle.

In January 2007, the Bank expanded outside the city limits of Carlyle and opened our Aviston Branch, located at 500 West Harrison. In June 2016, the Bank acquired two branch locations from Centrue Bank, one at 101 South Page, Aviston and the other at 18001 St. Rose Rd, St. Rose. In December 2017, the bank consolidated its two Aviston locations into the newly remodeled 500 West Harrison location.  1NB Bank now has four full service locations.

In October 2023, the Bank converted its national charter to a state charter, thus changing our name from The First National Bank in Carlyle to 1NB Bank.

1NB Bank is a locally-owned, full-service institution. The bank offers loans of all types for individuals and businesses and has a long history of serving agricultural customers in a significant portion of Southern Illinois.
